EDI - Electronic Data Interchange


Electronic Data Interchange (abbreviated EDI) is a technology that facilitates the data transfer between two or more business partners without usig paper support and messaging. EDI technology is used increasingly often by companies, mainly for the major advantages that brings into the collaboration with some international companies. Some companies even require EDI using from their partners.

The main process in the electronic interchange is the transfer of various documents (orders, bills, delivery notes, reception desk, catalogs) or informations between partners.
The data is presented into XML format and follow certain standards widely accepted.


ECOD (Electronic Center of Documents) is the platform which supports the transfer and processing electronic documents. The transfer is made by codifying the partners name and address, internationally unique encondings (GLN - Global Location Number).
